to a better future
The Commercial Banking Division’s Corporate Social Responsibility project for the year 2023 focused on the theme “Providing sustainable access to a better future”
This project is targeted at providing medical support, creating awareness, and vocational training for children and underprivileged parents as it applies. This initiative has been carried out in 3 different regions in Nigeria delivering on our brand promise of a more than banking experience.
WESTERN REGION
Partnering with M.E.N.D, we organized vocational training such as hairdressing, dressmaking, bag making, etc. for over 200 underprivileged parents in Ijebu-ode, Ogun state. With the aim to equip parents with income-generating skills that would enable them to take care of their families and provide the basic needs for survival.
- We have empowered over 200 parents with job-creating skills in the outreach location.
- The media awareness on VVI is expected to reach over 1,000 people in the community educating them on preventive measures and treatment.
- We have supported the surgery of 100 individuals living with Tonsilitis.
- Equipped 2,000 pupils with school sandals to comfortably aid their learning.
SOUTHEAST REGION
Shoe My Feet ProjectThis project is aimed at providing over 2000 pupils in rural areas with shoes/sandals for school, tagged “Shoe my feet”. The objective is to ensure underprivileged pupils no longer attend school barefooted.
NORTHERN REGION
This project is targeted at providing medical support, creating awareness, and vocational training for children and underprivileged parents as it applies. This initiative has been carried out in 3 different regions in Nigeria delivering on our brand promise of a more than banking experience.
In addition, we would be creating awareness for the Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVI) ailment in women as it is a very common condition with limited general knowledge. This awareness will give insight into the preventive measures and available treatments for the condition which will benefit the general public.
