The account is a specially designed for Unregistered Non-Governmental and Non-Profit organizations such as: Churches, Clubs, Societies, Associations etc.


IMPORTANT UPDATE ON YOUR COMMUNITY BASIC ACCOUNT

The closure of unregistered community basic accounts was done to ensure adequate Know-Your-Customer (KYC) is available to safeguard your funds. Your association or society can be registered as an Incorporated Trustee (Clubs, Churches, and Associations) or as a Non-Governmental Organization, with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) or with the relevant Ministry in your State or Local Government in charge of Cooperative Societies. Once this is completed, please visit our nearest branch to submit your documents to this effect.  


We urge you not to panic as your money is safe and accessible on demand. We also assure you and your association/community of our continued support. Please note that neither the bank nor any other party seeks to claim the funds held in your account.

What You Will Need

  • Duly Completed Account Opening Form (Completed Personal Information Forms of each signatory)
  • Two Recent Passport Photographs of each signatory
  • 2 Duly Completed Signature Specimen Cards of all authorized signatories with their signing rules indicated
  • Valid Means of Identification and BVN
  • Proof of Address
  • Certified True Copy of Constitution/Rules
  • Proof of formal registration with a recognized Market Associations/Trade Union, LGA, State Governments etc.
  • Certificate of Registration of a parent body and letter of recognition from the parent body. E.g. Religious organization such as CAN etc.

  • 5.625% p.a interest rate (subject to 4 withdrawals per month and a monthly average operating balance of ₦10,000)
