though I’d started a new job,
I hadn’t gotten paid yet. Of course, I’d just about run through my savings. I honestly had like 12-15k naira in my account. But I’m a lover. I was down to spend every last dime on my man, because of love.

So because I didn’t have the money to buy a gift and could only afford the tissue paper that goes in the bag, like the amazing girlfriend I was, I said ok fine, let me make us both a home cooked meal and we can stay in and chill. I used half the money in my account. So imagine having to manage 8k for another two and half weeks. That’s like 2k petrol, another 3k or so for toll gate and managing data by asking everyone for their Wi-Fi password. But I was determined to make him feel wanted and special.

So of course, I call my girl. She picks up. I ask if she’s home she says of course she is, that where else would she be. I tell her she has a surprise downstairs at her door and that she should go pick it up. She gets a little excited and says ok. So she comes downstairs, and of course she sees me.
Do you know this babe took off? I mean, she saw me, turned around and fled back up the stairs into her flat.
