report phishing emails
How to spot a phishing E-mail
Questions to ask yourself
You can now report malicious or suspicious emails using the “Report Phish” button on the top-right bar of your Outlook client.
When you click the “Report Phish” button, an alert is triggered. The alert will be treated once received
Most phishing emails can be identified by the content. However, here are some other features to look out for:
1 There are often grammatical errors, odd wordings, or technical errors in the messages
2 Links redirect to sites unrelated to the sender of the mail
3 Link shortening services are used to hide the actual destination of the links (eg bit.ly, tinyurl.com, ow.ly)
4 The subject field does not match the content
Would the sender really send such a message to me?
Is the message really the type of communication that you would expect from the organisation it claims to come from?
When you feel it just does not look right, then it probably is not. Report it!
