My Isolation Blessings
“Hi, I’m Dr. Funke Bankole. At times I just think to myself how crazy it is that in just a few months COVID-19 has managed to transform the world. From what we have witnessed, it is clear that social status, age and the likes are of no importance when it comes to being infected with Coronavirus, the virus doesn’t discriminate.
This is a health crisis and as a collective, we have to face it head-on, which we have been doing successfully but there is still some way to go. I know we have what it takes to defeat this virus and in doing so, I’m grateful and must commend the efforts of the government, corporate bodies and individuals who have and are still contributing through various means, such as cash donations, palliatives and the provision of PPE’s. All these contributions as well as the enforced lockdown have helped flatten the curve.
However, as our economy is gradually reopening, I plead with you all to stay at home, aside when necessary to go out. Maintain social distancing and observe all safety precautions as provided by the Federal Government COVID-19 Response Committee.
COVID-19 has truly tested our resolve to work together as a community and we have proved that we can all work together to accomplish a common goal for a greater good. We should all be proud, as we have shown that together, we can flatten the curve.
